FESTIVAL INFO

Oranjebloesem 2017

Oranjebloesem is an electronic music festival held on King's Day, a huge national holiday in The Netherlands. Headliners are Âme, KiNK & Bicep amongst others.

On a sandy peninsula located just outside Amsterdam's bustling city center is Blijburg aan Zee, a beautiful venue and the city's go-to beach destination. Adjacent to a vast lake, the IJmeer, you can find beaches and sand dunes with a spectacular view.
Oranjebloesem takes over this idyllic place with four stages programmed with various strands of quality, underground music.

The main stage is located in between the before mentioned sand dunes and is headlined by Frank Wiedemann of Âme who will perform a signature live set, and Kompakt Records head honcho Michael Mayer. Other acts on this stage are Barnt, Konstantin Sibold back-to-back Tsepo and Some Chemistry.

The second stage can be found on the beach itself, featuring a British delegation consisting of Irish party starters Bicep and Scottish selectors Optimo. Two local acts who both call themselves sound systems complete the bill: Dekmantel Soundsystem and Beesmunt Soundsystem.

The third stage is a live stage where bands and electronic live acts cross paths. African cult band Ata Kak and local Afrobeat collective Jungle by Night take the stage with full bands, while electronic superstar KiNK will turn up with a special live set-up feating live vocals by his wife Rachel Row to cement his position as the worlds #1 electronic live act as chosen by the readers of Resident Advisor. The final act on this stage is Lövestad, two local heroes with a great track record of destroying dance floors with their live jam sessions.

Finally, lovers of deep, melodious techno can indulge themselves at the fourth area to Extrawelt, Kiasmos, Dominik Eulberg, Gabriel Ananda and Mattheis. Eyes closed and utter bliss!

City Info

Amsterdam

Home to more than 300 festivals and a countless number of music events which span all tastes and genres, Amsterdam has found its way to the top of the list as a world-class party destination.
With a population of just under a million, it may come as a surprise that such a small city has so much to offer. Nonetheless, Amsterdam has undoubtedly imposed itself as one of the hottest european capitals of electronic music, alongside Berlin and London, mainly thanks to its late legendary club Trouw, but also for its hosting of the internationally renowned ADE (Amsterdam Dance Event) which welcomes every year an endless stream of the biggest DJs in the world, spanning the entire spectrum of electronic sub-genres.

But don’t get us wrong, the capital of the Netherlands is not only about clubbing and holds many surprises. That’s right, ladies and gents, whether you are a leather-clad guitar-loving buff craving to headbang to the most edgy indie-rock riffs, or a nostalgic hippie-chic fellow in search of a one-in-a-lifetime musical journey, you can rest assured that Amsterdam has what it takes to suit even the most unconventional booty shakers!
